Alto 800 VXi+ Top Variant Launched

India’s largest family car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has launched Alto 800 VXi+ top variant priced at Rs 3.8 lacs. The made for India car, Alto will get a 7-inch touchscreen for the first time.

  • The Alto hatchback got a noteworthy makeover this year when it came with a powertrain which was BS6- compliant. It also got some major structural enhancements to make Alto follow stringent safety norms. 
  • In June, the company offered factory-fitted CNG kit with the Alto. Now, it has offered a new variant of India’s favourite family car.
  • The customers will get the company’s SmartPlay Studio infotainment system with a 7.0-inch touchscreen that’s compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and gets Bluetooth connectivity. It may be noted that all this is being offered first time with the hatchback, Maruti Alto. The customers will get a touch of luxury infotainment in a budget car.

  • Except for the touchscreen upgrade, all the other features will be the same as VXi version introduced earlier this year. Like the VXi model, VXi+ gets the dual-tone interiors, a manual air-conditioner with heater, power steering, power windows, remote locking, and the manually adjustable rearview mirrors.

  • Standard safety features such as Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), reverse parking sensors, seatbelt reminders, speed alert system and dual front airbags. Passenger airbags are optional in the car’s variants lower than the VXi.
  • The car is powered by a BS6-compliant 800cc, three cylindered petrol engine that is supported by a 5-speed manual transmission as a standard. 
  • Maruti has been in a monopoly for the budget hatchback cars, Alto is one of the best selling hatchbacks year after year. The company faced stiff competition from the French carmaker, Renault, in the form of Kwid which received a major facelift this year.
