Upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross – What We Know So Far

The recently launched facelift of the Maruti Baleno has certainly been a hit in the Indian market. While the Baleno remains to be one of the most practical, reasonably priced, and feature-loaded cars in the segment, the OEM is working on a special edition. This will be the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross. Yes, the Baleno used to get an RS edition back in the day, however, today, people want everything to be done ‘SUV style’. Here’s what we know about the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross!

  • Design

The basics of the Baleno will be carried forward on the Cross variant. You will see prominent body cladding all around the car which will give it the outdoorsy appeal customers seek. Maruti is expected to play around with the design of the alloys, and hopefully increase the size of the wheels as well. Up front, the headlight design will be similar to what we see on the 2022 Grand Vitara, which is definitely a good thing. The ground clearance will be slightly higher on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross.

The features on the other hand are expected to be the same as we see on the Baleno. You can definitely expect a 360-degree camera, heads-up display, 6 airbags, a 9-inch infotainment system, and an Arkamys sound system.

  • The engine on the Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno Cross is expected to bring back the 1L turbo petrol engine. This engine produced around 103HP. Power figures should increase by at least 10% as the competition OEMs have set a standard in terms of turbo petrol engines.

  • Pricing and launch

The Baleno Cross is expected to launch in India by February 2023. The ‘Cross’ model will most likely be based on the top-spec variant of the and prices are expected to be Rs. 80,000 – 1,20,000 higher than the regular Baleno.
