It’s that time of the year again when India’s biggest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is all set to break the barrier. First, the price hike and now the homegrown carmaker has discontinued several variants for the month of April.
With Maruti dispatching over 1,00,000 in across India in the financial year 2020-21. The brand has been able to maintain good numbers. But it’s not the same for all, the global automotive market has been facing a major supply shortage since the pandemic hit our shores last year.
According to leading media reports, India’s number 1 carmaker has issued an advisory to all its partner dealerships asking them not to accept or limit the bookings for select variants of particular models.
Although, the exact reason for the still remains unknown. It is speculated that there could be a shortage of parts due to which their production has been limited.
- Going by the advisory, The Maruti Suzuki Alto Vxi will not be available for April.
- The Maruti Suzuki Wagon R ZXI 1.2-litre petrol variant is not available. While the Vxi 1.2-litre is available in fewer numbers.
- The production of Celerio has been halted for this month
- While The Ertiga will also be available in fewer numbers
Looking at the advisory the brand has discontinued the top-end variants of the given models.
