Maruti Suzuki Recalls Ciaz, Ertiga & XL6!

Maruti Suzuki has recently decided to recall over 60,000 units of the Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6. MSIL stated that they are recalling a total of 63,493 units of the 3 cars to inspect and rectify a possible fault in the motor-generator unit (MGU). The affected units are the petrol versions which have the SVHS technology. The units manufactured between January 1, 2019, and November 21, 2019, are suspected to have a faulty MGU.

The dealerships have already started calling the customers who own the suspected vehicles. The defect has occurred due to an overseas global part supplier who has possibly manufactured the faulty MGUs. Therefore, Maruti Suzuki has decided to proactively call recall the vehicles for inspection and those found fit will be released immediately!

Vehicles having faulty MGUs will be retained by the showroom till the replacement is done. Of course, this replacement will free of cost. Maruti Suzuki won’t charge anything from the customer for this. Maruti Suzuki has also decided to provide alternate mobility options if required. Customers who have bought vehicles manufactured within the stated time frame can also visit the dealerships themselves and get their vehicles checked by filling up their chassis number in a form.

Maruti Suzuki earlier had recalled the Baleno back in May 2018 due to faulty vacuum hose. A total of 52,686 units of faulty vehicles were recalled and repaired free of cost. Recall campaigns are carried out globally to rectify the possible defects that may occur while manufacturing the stock and this is absolutely nothing to worry about! Maruti Suzuki will always continue to have our trust and will continue to sell its technology in India. 

Currently, the Ciaz, the Ertiga and the XL6 are available at a starting price of Rs. 8.19 Lacs, Rs. 7.55 Lacs, and Rs. 9.80 Lacs respectively.
