Maruti Suzuki has teased the launch of S-Cross on the official website with the tagline, “Get ready for the S-Cross Petrol – Arriving Soon”. The company showcased the petrol variant at the Auto Expo 2020. It may be noted that previously, S-Cross was only available in a diesel variant. But due to the strict BS6 emission norms, the company has decided to discontinue the diesel mills for now. Let’s have a look at what do we know about the upcoming petrol S-Cross.

As Maruti Suzuki had to discontinue the diesel engines, it will be getting a whole new power mill that currently powers the Ciaz, Ertiga, XL6 and the newly launched Vitara Brezza and is BS6-compliant.
Other than the powertrain upgrade, S-Cross will have few features upgrades such as new SmartPlay Studio touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. It will also be getting new ORVMs with integrated turn signal lights and jauntier set of alloy wheels.
The crossover earlier received a facelift in 2017. It already is equipped with features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, speed alert, seat belt reminder, ISOFIX child mounts and rear parking sensors as standard.
For the rivals, the new petrol S-Cross will go up against Hyundai Creta, Tata Nexon, Tata Altroz, Ford Ecosport, Honda WR-V and Renault Duster. You can expect the car to cost around ₹9,00,000 although the official prices have not been revealed yet. Losing the diesel engine, the S-Cross also loses a big chunk of power.
