Maruti Suzuki And Their Better Safety Rated Cars In India

India’s largest brand, Maruti Suzuki has been at the top of the sales charts. And yet, one thing that it has been defamed of is the safety of its cars. But still, Maruti Suzuki has been trying to enhance the safety of their cars. All the cars from the carmaker abide by the safety norms that have been set under the BNVSAP norms. Global NCAP, an organisation that has been testing vehicles for a long time and some of the cars from Maruti Suzuki have returned a good rating. Let’s take a look at such cars from Maruti Suzuki.

  1. Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza

One of the best selling sub-compact SUVs. Brezza scored an impressive 4-star rating at the Global NCAP crash test rating. What’s more interesting to know is that the bodyshell of Brezza has been rated stable. What this means is that Brezza can withstand loading even after the crash, comparable to the one done by NCAP. The compact-SUV offers dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, reverse parking camera and high-speed alert.

  2. Maruti Suzuki S-Cross

One of the most underrated car from the carmaker. Some say it’s a compact SUV, some say it’s a hatchback. The crossover offered under the NEXA channel scored a 5-star rating at the Euro-NCAP crash testing for the European model. It comes loaded with safety features such as dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and hill hold assist in the automatic version. To add to the safety, Maruti also offers disc brakes at all the corners of S-Cross.

The urban SUV is one of the cars from Maruti Suzuki that is on the list of my favourite cars. the tallboy stance with raunchy engine makes it a great car. And when paired with safety features such as dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, speed-sensing door unlocking, rear parking sensor and camera, rear defogger and high-speed alert. It managed to score a 3-star rating at the Global NCAP.

  6. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga

Again, one of the best selling in its segment. The budget MPV offers a great package of a decent engine and a decent safety. What’s more interesting is that it is better in terms of safety when compared to the Kia Seltos. Ertiga has scored 9.25 points for the adult occupancy while Seltos scored 8.03 out of 17 points. This gets more interesting for child occupancy. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga was able to score a 3-star rating while scoring a 25.16 out of 49. Kia Seltos scored a 2-star rating for the same while scoring a 2-star rating.

  1. This is funny.. none of these cars are the same as that run in india. Cars sold in Europe are totally different. For example the famous Swift from MS scored barely 2 stars in GNCAP in India, an agency that is much lenient than EuroNCAP. While the Swift sold in Australia scored 5star ANCAP and 3 star in ENCAP. That shows MS’s determination in selling tincans in India. This has been totally established when their own stakeholder said that they dont have to even test their vehicles in India as they conform the norms laid down by the govt. That was in itself a lol moment. Pity on how Indian lives are not valued by these corporates.
