Maruti Suzuki witnessed a huge rise in the month of October but it seems that the rise was short-lived. India’s largest carmaker which posted a 2.3% increase in sales in the month of October amidst India’s worst fall in the Automotive sector, fell again in November posting a 3.3% drop in its passenger vehicle segment sales over last year.

Till now Maruti Suzuki has dispatched 139,133 units to its dealerships throughout the nation final month against 143,890 items in October 2018. In simple words, this was Maruti’s highest sale this fiscal as compared to any other.
The last time when Maruti Suzuki posted such higher sales number was in March 2019 when the company had dispatched 145,031 units to its dealerships pan-India. Even though, the decline is because of the high base of last year when the festival of Diwali had fallen during the month. And this year sadly both Diwali and, Dussehra was in October.
Although new additions such as the S-Presso has really helped Maruti Suzuki reduce the decline in sales in the mini-car segment that has been hit the most by the overall slowdown in the industry. This designated category Maruti saw a massive 12.2% decline in the month which seems to be much lower than the over 50% decline in the first 6 months of the fiscal.
In the compact phase which includes Maruti’s bestselling models like the Baleno, Swift, Dzire and the new Wagon R, the company posted a 7.6% progress in the final month at around 78,013 items. The Overall progress through the month was a marginal 1.8%. for the mini and compact phase.

Much recently the federal government launched GDP progress figures for the second quarter of this fiscal (July-September 2019) which confirmed progress that there obviously has been a decline of 4.5% to a 26 quarter As the November figures present, However, we are yet to see the final result of the last and final quarter.
