Maruti Suzuki sells Over 50,000 units of the S-Presso Micro SUV

With its launch in September 2019, Maruti Suzuki’s first micro SUV the S-Presso has been doing wonders for MSIL. Speaking about the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso Shashank Srivastava, Director, Marketing and Sales also said that Maruti Suzuki India has managed to sell over 50,000 units of its first micro SUV. Additionally, the top-end VXi and VXi+ variants of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso have been able to gather a whopping 97% of the total bookings.

While almost 48% of the demand has been recorded from the Tier II (i.e Pune, Ahmedabad, Vizag, Coimbatore, Surat, Asansol etc)and Tier III cities (i.e Bhopal, Kanpur Indore, Mysore etc) in the country.

The new micro SUV has become very popular amongst the youth and was able to grab over 10,000 bookings within 10 days of its arrival and also made its spots on the 10 best selling cars in 2019 list.

Under Its hood, the S-Presso shares its power with the Alto K10 hatchback and features a 1.0L petrol engine compliant to the BS6 emission norms and is capable of generating 67hp at 5500rpm with 90Nm of peak torque at 3500rpm. The engine on the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso comes paired to either a 5-speed manual gearbox and an optional AMT unit.

Talking about the design element the S-Presso has been designed on MSIL’s newly developed Heartect platform which also underpins the likes of the all-new WagonR, Swift, Baleno and other as well.

Safety has always been a questionable aspect with Maruti’s car but this time they have taken some serious action on that part as the new S-Presso comes equipped with dual airbags, reverse parking sensors, ABS (Anti-Lock-Braking System), high-speed warning alert, driver/co-driver seatbelt reminder and vehicle immobilizer as standard fitments. Safety features such as remote central locking, speed-sensitive door locks, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and parking brake warning reserved for the VXi and VXi+ variant only.
