2021 Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG Spied Testing

After testing the Maruti Suzuki Dzire for the CNG model, the company is now testing the small vehicle, Swift. Marut Suzuki India, updated the hatchback Swift early this year and with rising petrol prices, the company may launch this hatch with CNG.

The images of Maruti Swift have surfaced suggesting that a new variant of one of the top-selling hatchbacks is in making. The testing module suggests that the model could be with a new CNG kit.

What powers the new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG?

This top-selling hatchback in the 2021 model got a new powerful engine. This motor is similar to the previous engine but is a little more powerful.

  • The new engine in the Swift displaces 1.2-litres and is capable of generating maximum power of 89ps and 113Nm of peak torque.
  • Also, this motor comes mated with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT.
  • The thing that was missing from this powertrain was an option of CNG which might be launched soon.

As of now, Maruti Suzuki is the brand with the maximum number of cars with CNG variants. Early in July, we did see the Dzire with CNG being tested. Now with Swift also in the testing phase, the company’s CNG line-up is said to expand. Now, Maruti Suzuki offers CNG in cars like Alto, Celerio, WagonR, Eeco, Ertiga and S-Presso. Also, new cars are being added to the lineup. This will definitely be a boon to the customers suffering from the rising fuel prices.
