The month of May-2019 faced a heavy decline in the sale number due to various reasons. The stake declined to such an extent that manufacturing plants were forced to shut operations for days. Despite the drastic fall in the sales of automobiles,
Maruti Suzuki tops the sale charts this time as well!
Here is the list of 10 vehicles that were sold in the highest numbers in May 2019:

May 2019 was one of the worst months for Maruti Suzuki from the sales’ point of view, however, they have still managed to get major space in the top-10 chart.
Maruti Suzuki swift had a recent facelift, therefore, managed to bag the first position. The swift had a decline of 2,169 units if compared to the last year’s figure. The Swift has always been the reason why Maruti Suzuki tops sale charts!
Following Swift, Maruti Suzuki Alto bagged the second position in last month’s stats with a sale of 16,394 units, followed by Dzire at 16,196 units. Baleno and WagonR landed on the 4th & 5th position with sale number of 15,176 units and 14,561 units respectively.
On the 6th spot, we have seen a new entrant, Maruti Suzuki Eeco. Eeco has been in the top 10 list for long but never so high up. The reason Eeco has been pushed to such a higher rank is the discontinuation of Omni. The requirement for a vehicle based on such a platform would never die therefore, the Omni audience has shifted towards Eeco.
Hyundai also marks its presence after the Top5!
Finally, another car brand can be seen in number 7 where Hyundai Creta, based on the global ix25 platform has landed with a recorded sale of 9,054 units. Another Hyundai followed the Creta on the 8th position. The Hyundai i20 has been a great success for HMIL since its first generation.
Ertiga, on the 9th position, is the second car in the list to have increased its YoY(Year over Year) sales. The total sale of the top 10 cars in the month of may has declined in number if compared to 2018 due to various factors that have come into being with the advent of BSVI and Crash norms which have been thought of but are yet to be implied.
Another top player, the Hyundai Grand i10 has always been a part of this list but May 2019 didn’t seem good enough for the hatch to achieve a good sale number. Due to Eeco making its way into the charts on the 6th place, the Grand i10 couldn’t survive in the top 10’s list.
WIth new launches coming into the way let’s see what the next month stats happen to be for the next month! Maruti Suzuki tops sale charts regularly but so many new players like MG & Kia have come into the market. Can they compete with the already existing auto giant? Let’s see!
