Maruti is known to offer VFM when it comes to mileage. This goes for both cars. But, WagonR does make a mark with the S-CNG at the offer, which makes it possible to deliver a mileage of 32.52km/kg. The CNG is only available with the K10B engine. There is a significant reduction in power (59.14ps) and torque(78Nm) figures. Suzuki offers Ignis all-wheel-drive options, but not in India.

Is Ignis any more premium than the WagonR?
Ignis has the upper hand when it comes to being premium. The dark interiors, when compared to WagonR’s dull, do look much better. But there are a few similarities. One is the centre of the dash, a 7.0-inch touchscreen that Maruti calls the SmartPlay Studio. It offers smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. But again, the semi-floating display on Ignis looks more premium than WagonR. Overall, Ignis is surely premium over the Arena cousin.

Maruti Suzuki Ignis (African Spec manufactured in India) scored 3-star at the Global NCAP crash testing. WagonR, on the other hand, scored a 2-star rating. If we go by the company’s saying, all the cars adhere to the minimum requirements per India’s BNVSAP norms. As for the comparison, Ignis surely seems to be a better car in safety.

It’s all about premium. If you seek premium and have bucks to spare, Ignis does make a better option. It has good modern looks, a powerful engine and an overall safer package. Bought an Ignis just because it seems a better product by Maruti Suzuki. The Interiors are plush and the design though quirky will still catch attention in 10 years unlike the others which all look generic.

Ignis definitely far ahead of Wagon R. I am driving Ignis MT from past four years and it’s awesome. The driving is very comfortable. Road visibility is good and controls are very good. Even the speedometer amd other display features are also very easy to read. Interiors are good and space is good considering the size of car. About milege, I have even received an average of 27 kmpl on a 6 lane highway for a stretch of 90 km. Overall, in this budget Ignis is a complete package. Wagon R is no where close.
Had Ignis in 2017 and now back to wagnor again in 2019, spending 50k on same product just because you name it nexa. Nothing new in terms of experience from Arena and Nexa while interacting with service center. Nexa has better presentation in term showroom, while service center carried out same kind of treatment. Honda and Toyota take around 3 to 4 hours in full vehicle service, while Nexa takes at least 6 hours for full service. Cost of nexa service is 6.5k to 7k verses arena 5.5to 6k for similar work.
