Maruti Swift vs Maruti Baleno | So what does it all come down to?

Looking at the price list, each variant of the Baleno compared to the respective variants in the Swift cost at least ₹25,000 more and this difference goes up to ₹ 94,000 speaking of the top-spec variants. So the question is, do you really need to spend that much more money on a Baleno instead of picking the Swift?

The Answer to that is factors like bigger proportions, more powertrain options and overall being a tad bit more premium than the Swift works in favour of the Baleno. However, if you are a fan of the no-nonsense sporty attributes of the Swift, then extra stuff that the Baleno has to offer won’t bother you much. Since both the cars have similar underpinnings overall, choosing the Swift over the Baleno will at least help you save a great deal that you could spend later on the car’s maintenance.

With the Swift possibly getting the DualJet engine sometime soon and with a decent enough equipment list, the top-most thing not working in the Swift’s favour is just the smaller proportions. If you are able to make peace with that, we dare say that the Swift might just be the wiser choice of the two.

    • Hi Nikhil,
To make things clear, let me tell you that AMT (Automatic Manual Transmission) should not be confused with an automatic transmission as both are distinct. Now with that out of our way, Maruti Suzuki Swift comes with an AMT gearbox whereas the Baleno is offered with a CVT automatic. Hence, Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the one that can be termed as the right automatic. Also, CVT will deliver a lot smoother and efficient ride when compared to AMT. Hope it helps, stay pinned! 🙂
