Another Proof! Maruti Suzuki Records Production Growth!
- Maruti Suzuki’s 2019 WagonR has shown it’s fortitude by crossing the one lakh mark in just less than a year from its launch. This sale is 29.50% more than that of 2nd Gen WagonR in November 2018.
- The 2019 Maruti WagonR is powered by a 1.0-Litre engine which produces 67ps of power and 90Nm of peak torque. There is another engine option which is 1.2-Litre which produces 82ps and 113Nm.
- The engines are paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox as a standard. The 5-speed Automatic Gear Shift (AGS) comes as an optional feature.
- The car is rivalled by the 2nd-Gen Hyundai Santro which had a great start with nearly 23,500 pre-bookings. But the 2nd-Gen Santro was not able to keep the spot for demands as the demand declined.

- In comparison to 2020 Maruti WagonR, the 2nd-gen Santro comes with a 1.1L 4-cylinder petrol engine capable of producing a peak power of 69ps and torque of 99 Nm. A CNG variant is also available that delivers a power of 59ps and torque of 84 Nm. The transmission that supports the engine is a 5-speed manual gearbox and 5-speed AMT (a first-time feature). The chassis is a revamped version of Grand i10’s BA architecture.
- WagonR has been one of India’s favourite car since its inception. Be it a taxi driver, or a nuclear family, it has kept the brand alive along with other offerings by Maruti Suzuki.
