EVs are the new thing in the market, and India has started to accept them! While most EVs sold in India are still budget-oriented, luxury EVs are also picking up pace. Mercedes has already launched the EQC in India and now they plan on launching the EQB here as well! Let’s take a look at the Mercedes EQB!
The Mercedes EQB does not sit on a traditional EV platform. Instead, it is based on the Mercedes GLB that is sold in foreign markets. It retains the new look that Merc has been following on their SUVs, typically boxy with tasteful elements. The EQB is a 7-seater, however, Merc will make some changes to the styling before bringing it to India. The interior also remains largely similar to the GLB.
Mercedes EQB range!
The numbers for the Mercedes EQB aren’t clear yet. However, considering the segment, it should offer a 450 – 500KM range. Power outputs might not be out of the world, but they will still be much more than enough for Indian roads.
Apart from the glorious luxury, the EQB might also get ADAS features like adaptive cruise, lane keep assist, auto-braking, etc. The EQB will be updated with the latest dual-screen setup that we have been seeing in the recently launched cars like the C-Class and the S-Class.
Mercedes EQB launch and price
Prices for the EQB are expected to be lying between Rs. 65 – 70 Lakhs in India. The primary competition for this SUV will be the Kia EV6, Jaguar iPace (in terms of range and body type only), and the Volvo XC40 Recharge. Mercedes has confirmed that the EQB will come to India by the end of 2022!
