MG ZS EV has beaten Hyundai Kona in terms of sales for the month of February 2020. MG ZS EV vs Hyundai Kona was the much-awaited competition and here we have brought the results finally. The ZS Ev has beaten the Hyundai Kona for the sales figure of February 2020.
The ZS EV is the second car in MG’s India lineup after the Hector. The car has already got almost 3000 bookings until now. Though the auto market is relatively down due to the Coronavirus scare still MG has managed to deliver 158 units in the month of February 2020. Hyundai Kona was not able to match this figure and was able to sell a mere figure of 32 units only.
Not only the NG ZS EV or the Hyundai Kona, but the sale numbers for the electric vehicles have also been relatively lower than the IC engine vehicles. It seems that the Indian audience is accepting the shift to electric but the transition seems really slow as of now. Further, Tata Nexon EV has also come up which will increase the variety of choice for the Indian audience. Mahindra is also planning a couple of EVs for the Indian market which will give the audience a wide range to choose from.
As of now, MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona have got the major market share. Other electric options that are available include the Nexon EV, Mahindra’s eVerito and Tata’s Tigor EV. The sale of electric vehicles will gradually go up as the strict emission norms kick in. The Indian audience is definitely looking out for an alternative for the departing diesel engines. Though EVs will take over soon Maruti Suzuki is still trying to push CNG as an alternative as their electric car is nowhere to be found till now. Let’s see what happens next!
