The facelifted ZS EV is expected to launch next month; MG’s most recent launch was the Astor which was quite a success. Now let’s see what this facelift is bringing:
The current ZS EV is powered by a 44.5kWh battery providing a range of 419 kilometres. It is available in two trims; Excite & Exclusive. With the facelift, MG is planning to introduce a 50kWh battery pack. There are no changes expected to the power figures as of now.
This bigger battery pack would ensure at least 500 kilometres of range. This extended range will be the much-needed update if the word around is accurate. It would help to tackle the range anxiety slightly until the charging infrastructure in the country improves.
As of now, there are only two cars in MG’s lineup that are equipped with ADAS; Gloster & Astor. As MG says, the latter & most recently launched Astor has autonomous level 2 ADAS. The same system could be equipped for the ZS EV too.
This includes features such as blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, high-beam & lane keep assist, along with front collision warnings & autonomous emergency braking.
The cabin might be reworked with refreshed interior & better upholstery, and a digital cockpit. The facelifted ZS EV will have a 10.1-inch digital cockpit, wireless charging pad & previous features such as the panoramic sunroof, PM 2.5-air filter.
The facelifted ZS EV for the European markets shares exterior design elements with the Astor. It stands on 17-inch dual-tone alloys with cladding on the sides and a revised position for the charging port. The LED taillights are slightly sharper with a tweaked front bumper & new front grille.
The ZS EV churns out 140hp & 350Nm torque with a price range of ₹21-24.7 lakhs. MG might slightly hike the prices due to the ADAS & battery update; we might find out next month with the launch.
