MG ZS EV garners 2,800 bookings in 27 days!

MG has finally launched its first EV in India. The ZS EV is now, here and you can book one for yourself! The price of the EV is Rs.19.88 lacs for the customers who booked it before 17th January 2020. The carmaker had commenced the first round of advance bookings for the ZS EV on 21st December 2019 and the round ended on the midnight of 17th January 2020.

Morris Garages has gained a total 2,800 bookings in the booking period of 27 days. According to MG, the number of bookings that they have received has outpaced the total number of electric cars in India! That’s a really great response to a new automaker launching a new product!

Further, MG said that they will start delivering the already booked MG ZS EV units by 27th January 2020 in major cities like Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Hyderabad.

Just to let you know, the MG ZS EV comes in two variants namely Excite and Exclusive. The base variant has a price tag of Rs. 19.88 lacs and the second variant comes at a price of Rs. 22.58 lacs. These prices were effective for the units booked till the midnight of 17th January 2020.

The all-new ZS EV comes equipped with a 3-phase permanent magnet synchronous motor capable of generating a maximum power output of 140.80 hp with 353 Nm of peak torque. The motor comes mated to an automatic transmission with 3 driving modes on the block.

The motor on the electric SUV comes powered to a 44.5 kWh water-cooled lithium-ion battery and can be recharged using any 15 AMP socket. It can take anywhere around 6-8 hours to charge from 0-80 per cent with an AC fast charger while the DC super-fast charger will do the same in a matter of 50 minutes.

The ZS Electric holds an average range of 340 km on a single charge and can accelerate upto 0-100kmph in a matter of 8.5 seconds, with a maximum speed clocked to 140kmph.
