Most Iconic Bajaj Bikes- Remembering Rahul Bajaj!

On 12th February 2022, Rahul Bajaj, one of the most prominent names in the automobile industry, bid adieu to the world. Mr. Bajaj has blessed India with many, many iconic 2- wheelers. Almost every Indian family has owned a Bajaj 2 wheeler at least once! Today, let’s walk down the memory lane and take a look at some of the most iconic Bajaj bikes!

  1. Bajaj Kawasaki Caliber

The Caliber was sold in India from 1998 to 2006. It was one of the most famous bikes for office goers back in the early 2000s. The Caliber got a 111cc single-cylinder engine, that made 7.8HP and 8.1nm torque. The numbers weren’t high, but then the Caliber was not made to out-perform. It was made to take middle-aged people to the office and back, and it did that pretty well.

The Boxer can be considered as a more powerful version of the Caliber. It got a 150cc engine that produced 12HP and 12.26nm torque. This was a good choice for the people who needed a bit more punch for their city rides. The bass-heavy exhaust note of the Boxer is surely something that many kids were very fond of!

  1. Bajaj Super

The Bajaj Super was a slightly more powerful version of the Bajaj Chetak. It sported a 150cc engine, churning out roughly 7.5HP. Early models of the Super were a licensed remake of the Italian scooter, the Vespa Super. Even later models of the Super seemed to have a lot in common with various models of the Vespa range of scooters. The Super was capable of hitting a top speed of 80 KM/hr, which indeed was super for a scooter at that time!

  1. Bajaj Pulsar

The Pulsar series brought in the first Indian sports bikes. Pulsars have been the most sought after bikes for every boy and every man in India. The sheer variety of 150, 180, 200 and 220cc attracted magnitudes of customers to Bajaj showrooms. The RS and the NS series of the Pulsar are still amongst the most powerful bikes in the 200cc segment.
