Hero Honda Karizma
The sporty looking bike became a statement when it launched in 2003. It was so good looking and had such great performance that it didn’t take long for Karizma to become a household name. Even now you can ask anyone and they would remember the name and the first time they saw it on the road. It was in 2014 when the bike got its last facelift but with other companies pushing better and cheaper bikes its popularity started to fade away and it was discontinued. We wish that Hero Honda Karizma would make a comeback and take the market by storm again just like it did the last time.

Honda VFR 1200F
Launched in 2010, the Honda VFR 1200F was a bike ahead of its time. With DCT and ABS back in the day when it was rare for bikes to have all this tech in them. It came at a cost though, literally. The bike cost ₹17,50,000 which was quite a huge sum. With its features and power, the bike was not made for everyone but the amount was still too much and the VFR 1200F couldn’t find enough sales. We do hope the bike comes again and with even more state of the art tech this time as well. With the improved automobile industry of India now the bike will find no trouble selling at a high price as well.

Yamaha RD350
A powerhouse of a bike the RD350 or as its commonly known as ‘The Rajdoot’ was launched in 1983. It was actually so fast that it quickly became a problem for new and inexperienced drivers as they were not used to driving this fast. A bike in the ’80s that could do 0-100 km/hr in 6 seconds was not expected by anyone. It quickly gained a bad reputation with people often calling it the Rapid Death Machine. This coupled with the fact that it was not very fuel-efficient didn’t allow the bike to gain a good foothold in the market. If the Rajdoot makes a comeback by god it’s gonna be a fast bike given how the technology has evolved over the decades and how fast other bikes can go now.

Honda CBR250R
One of the more iconic sports bike the CBR was another bike that almost everyone knows the name of. The stylish looks with the big name tag on the side really made it pop out in traffic. Alas, it was taken by the BS6 norm as the bike started seeing lower sales number after KTM entered the market and thus the company decided to not release a BS6 variant. We hope it comes back later with an even stronger engine and better looks.

Suzuki Hayabusa
Hayabusa is one of the bikes that I personally adored. I don’t know what it was but I always found the bike really stylish and appealing. Many an hour was spent drawing the Japanese symbol on my notebooks and daydreaming about driving one of these. The BS6, however, took another victim. The company decided that they will discontinue the current model. They showcased the next-gen Hayabusa at auto expo 2020 so we know its coming when its coming is still not revealed.

TVS Apache 150
The first of the Apache series, the 150 set the standard for the other Apaches in the series to follow. It was one of the faster ones in its segment and could reach 112 km/hr. We wish TVS makes the 150 Apache again and shake up the segment one more time.

Lambretta
Enough bikes now for the scooters. The Lambretta is probably one of the most famous scooters of the yesteryear. Used by rich and middle class alike, it was the dad scooter and was famous among middle-aged men. This was both its selling point and its downfall and it slowly was phased out of the market by scooters like Vespa and LML which were aimed towards a younger audience. It is however coming back electrified and will cost around 1 Lakh INR.
-
Bajaj Chetak
Another iconic symbol, almost everyone has driven or been a passenger on one of these. It did make a comeback but as an electric scooter. We hope Bajaj decides to bring back the OG Chetak with improvements for today’s time and age.
-
LML Star Euro 150
Almost impossible for this one to make a comeback as Lohia Machines Ltd (LML) is defunct now. It was a really good scooter and we wish it would come back. One can dream. The scooters were made with the collaboration of Piaggio. The company shut down in 2017.
-
Honda Eterno
The geared scooter by Honda was shut down after the company decided to shift to gearless scooters. The Activa was thus born. Eterno was a solid scooter and it had smooth gear shifts which was a really nice thing for scooters back then. Its probably not coming back but we can hope and wish it would.
This ends the list of 10 bikes and scooters we wish would make a comeback. Theses were the segment shakers and left a lasting impression on all of us. All we can do is hope that they come back again stronger than ever.
