Sub-200cc Motorcycles With The Best-Looking Exhausts

We’re in the endgame now when it comes to Internal Combustion engines, and they dispose of the smoke and other residues through the exhaust systems. The exhaust system needs to take a more function over form approach, yet the manufacturers take pain in making the exhausts look good and sound even better. Let’s take a look at the list of sub-200cc motorcycles with the best-looking exhausts.

  1. Hero Xpulse 200

Just like we said before, the exhausts need to take a more function over form approach, and that is precisely what the adventure-oriented Xpulse 200 has. Its exhaust is high up and just under the pillion seat, which gives it a very Adventure bike feel and helps it wade deeper waters than other bikes. But the best part is that Hero has thrown in an Adventure kit to buyers that includes an Akropovic exhaust that sounds sweet and shows how a true ADV should sound like. That’s why it makes its way at the top of the motorcycles with the best-looking exhausts.

  2. Suzuki Gixxer 150/250

The exhausts of the Suzuki motorcycles have always been beefy right from its introduction. Although it used to look curvy like an obese person before, now it looks more muscular with good shape and sharp edges. It sounds pretty good as well, especially while giving it the beans and accelerating hard. There is very little difference between the exhausts of the 150 and 250, but they have one of the best-looking exhausts for sure.

  3. Honda CB200X/Hornet

The concept of short-stubby exhausts seem to have taken over those lengthy straight-lined monotonous looking ones, and we don’t complain against that for sure. The ones on the Honda CB200X, which are similar to the Honda Hornet, are prime examples of short-stubby exhausts that look cool, matching the overall nature of the bike. They sound pretty good, especially when you try to slow down using the engine braking.

  4. Bajaj Pulsar RS200

Pulsar RS200 has a shorter and stubbier exhaust that is designed very well and looks in sync with the entire body. Just like the unending sharp cuts and creases on the bike, the exhaust also has the same design language that fits in place. The sound might not be alluring during idle or riding slow, but when you accelerate hard, it becomes more lively and encourages you to ride harder, and the engine is supportive of this as well.

One of the first of its kind, the Doube Barrel exhaust is undoubtedly one of the best-looking exhausts in the market right now for sub-200cc motorcycles. The first glance might be polarizing to many, but we’re sure most of them will lean towards the good part. Once the bike is fired up, they will start liking it because that is how good it sounds, and it sounds even better during hard acceleration and engine braking.

  6. Yamaha FZ

This is the bike that introduced the concept of short and stubby exhausts in India. The silencer matches exceptionally well with the entire design language of the bike and has a muscular look that is neatly integrated into the bike. The design is indigenous and looks good from any angle you look at it. We believe this is one of the very few bikes that sound good at any point in time, be it while riding slow or hard or idling. The engineers have done an outstanding job, and that’s the reason it has one of the best-looking exhausts.

  7. TVS Apache RTR 180

We understand if you are confused as to why a long straight-lined silencer is on this list of best-looking exhausts, and the primary reason is because of how it sounds. It has a very throaty exhaust and has a deep bass that sounds so well at idle or while riding it slow and even while ripping it hard. The design is alright, we agree but take one ride on this bike, and you will know what we are talking about.

  8. Bajaj Pulsar NS200/ KTM RC200

This might be the shortest or smallest exhaust system globally by a manufacturer, but it still counts. While many might be against the thought of this being one of the best-looking exhausts, but hear this out, the design is the most indigenous you might have ever come across. It looks neat as if without a silencer, lower centre of gravity and most of all, it helps give you an outstanding balance as there is no extra weight on the ride side of the bike due to the presence of bigger silencers. The only disadvantage would be the lower ground clearance, and that’s something which needs to be considered in our pothole-ridden roads.

  9. Yamaha R15 V3/V4

You can always trust the Japanese to give you a well-designed bike with attention to detail. The one on the R15 is relatively long compared to all other bikes from Yamaha, but it surely does not look odd and is indeed designed very well. That carbon fibre-like treatment at the beginning, the etched R15 symbol at the middle and the almost Akropovic-looking tip looks excellent, and that’s why it gained a spot on the list of the best-looking exhausts. This exhaust sounds particularly sweet when riding hard and encourages you to go further every time.

We understand that many more bikes deserve to be on this list, but we believe the ones mentioned here are better. Just in case you think otherwise, please let us know any sub-200cc motorcycle that has a better-looking exhaust or even better-sounding ones that can be included in this list. The most recent bike with an excellent sounding exhaust that we test drove was the Apache RTR 200 4V, and it sounds perfect for a bike with such a small engine.
