Top 5 New Car Brands in India to Launch by 2021- Citroen to Tesla

The Indian automobile industry has seen multiple changes in the past decade with many foreign entities showing interest in the domestic market. It is for a fact that at one moment the industry was dominated by car manufacturers and the not the customer but times seems to have changed drastically as now all major carmakers are putting up there best to pull the customer towards its product. Every year, all major automobile manufacturer is now rolling out new models followed by some of the old but improved models to grab some attention towards them from the consumer. And with new companies making the entry into the domestic sector with there more affordable and feature-loaded products it has now become more difficult for Indian companies to sustain their growth. So here we have listed the top 5 New Car Brands making their debut in India by 2021.

    It seems that the Americans just can’t get enough as American Electric automobile giant Tesla is planning to make a baggin entry in the Indian automobile sector with its Model 3 sedan sometime in 2021. The Tesla Model 3 made its global debut in 2016 and was amongst the most sold cars in the country and only that the model 3 sedan is also known as the most affordable electric vehicle in the world. It is a known car that the Tesla Model 3 will be a CBU if and when launched in India hence resulting in a major price hike, So we can expect the initial price of the Tesla Model 3 to range between Rs 40-50 lakhs.

    After the Americans it the Chinese brand GWM or Great Wall Motors setting its eye on the domestic car market. Just so you know Great wall motors is the biggest SUV and pick-up manufacturers on their home turf.

    The company’s domestic entry was confirmed when they showed up at the recently held Auto Expo 2020 with the Haval H5 and H7. It was pretty evident that they either forgot to give an appropriate name to their model or just didn’t care that much. Additionally to get hold of what an Indian consumer looks in a car they have also hired Kaushik Ganguly an Ex Maruti Suzuki employee to take charge of the Indian domain. The brand has also conducted multiple studies before finalising its debut.

  3. Faw Haima

    Yes, here we have another Chinese company planning stain the Indian automobile industry after the Novel Coronavirus or the Covid-19. FAW Haima Automobile Co.Ltd will commence a profit-sharing business with an Indian Firm Bird Automotive which also happens to be an authorised dealer-partner for BMW and the Mini. Haima had showcased its rumoured India line-up at the Auto Expo 2020 which consisted of Haima 7X, Haima 8S and the Bird E1. We can expect the brand to enter India sometime within the next 2-3 years.

  4. Citroen

    The Groupe PSA, alliance Citroen has partnered with the homegrown CK Birla group to manufacture and sell products in the domestic market. This French carmaker will be seen on Indian roads by early 2021 with the Citroen C5 Aircross SUV which will be a CBU unit and will rival the likes of the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza in the compact SUV segment. Rumour also has it that Citroen could also introduce locally developed products by Q2 of 2021.

  5. Chery

    Last major company to make its way onto the top 5 new car brands in India to launch by 2021 is Chery. which will go hand in hand with one of India’s biggest homegrown automobile manufacturer to mark a smooth entry in the domestic car market.

    Just to make things more crystal clear Chery had also entered a 50:50 JV with JLR a Tata-owned entity back in 2012 called The Chery JLR Company which allowed Chery to manufacture the Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles in China. We at GoMechnic had also published a report stating that Tata’s new upcoming blackbird SUV could be based on the Chery Tiggo 5X SUV.
