Hyundai India had a roller coaster ride last year as the automobile industry stumbled upon the longest distress ever faced in decades. Now, the Korean carmaker is all set to make a comeback with new models as well as updating their previous offerings. One such is the very famous Hyundai i20. The new generation of the car is all set to launch in June 2020.
The OEM will be kicking off the Auto Expo 2020 by showcasing the second-gen Creta SUV. The new Hyundai i20 is another much-awaited launch by the automaker.

The revamped Hyundai i20 will surely cost around ₹20,000 more than the current version though there is no official statement from the manufacturer. The new-gen i20 will lock horns with the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Ford Figo, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo and Honda Jazz.

The hatchback will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine and a 1.5-litre diesel engine. Both the options will surely be BS6-compliant. The petrol engine will churn out 83HP of power and 114Nm peak torque. The diesel counterpart will be giving out a good 90HP of power. The current version of Hyundai i20 will be getting a BS6 engine with a petrol option till the new-gen enters the market.

The length of the new i20 will be the same as that of the current version in order to avail the tax benefits of the sub-four metre segment. The design of the current variant is loved by the Indian customers so the basic design of the car is least expected to be changed. It will get a wider grille with a larger Hyundai logo. It will be coming with the Hyundai BlueLink system. The interiors can be expected to look like the new Creta.
