The New Mahindra Scorpio Is On Fire….Literally!

It’s not every day that we see a test mule on fire while being out for testing for reasons unknown as seen with the Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio. Certain reports claim that the driver saw smoke coming out from the engine unit fire and moved the car to the side roads to avoid any accident and before any further action could be executed the fire had completely engulfed the Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio.

However many media reports claim that the cause of the fire could simply be due to a short-circuit or a faulty engine component another proposed reason could be with carmakers using different components from other OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)  which might have been running on high stress for the fire to be caused. Thankfully no one was reported injured during the incident.

This is not the first time that a testing prototype from Mahindra has been involved in such incidents, Back in 2013 Mahindra’s KUV100 was reported to have been involved in a serious crash in the Nilgiri Hills.

Whatever may have been the actual reason for the fire, It is very unfortunate for such incidents to happen.

The Next-gen Mahindra Scorpio was captured being tested on the outskirts of Tamil Nadu. It seems that Mahindra has certainly made major changes both in terms of its design and engine specs.
