Tata Safari Launched, Starts At ₹14.69 Lakhs. Adventure Persona Introduced

After waiting nearly a month, Tata has, at last, launched its legendary 6 seater SUV, Safari. The 2021 Tata Safari will now cost ₹14.69 Lakhs (ex-showroom) for the base XE variant. If you fancy the top XZA+ trip, it will set you back ₹21.25 Lakhs (ex-showroom). Moreover, the Indian carmaker, ‘Tata’ did start accepting the booking for Safari this month for an amount of ₹30,000.

Is There Anything New?

With the launch of the new Tata Safari, the company has introduced a new edition, ‘Adventure Persona’. This is where this vehicle gets some cosmetic changes.

• Starting with a new shade of blue which is called Tropical Mist.
• Also, the new 18-inch alloys get an all-black treatment that looks stunning.
• The front of the vehicle is pampered with unique black triangular elements.
• Besides, the black theme is carried on the roof rails as well.
• Stepping on the inside, the Adventure edition gets brown and white treatment versus the white and black.

Coming to the price, the one with manual transmission is priced at ₹20.20 Lakhs whereas the automatic gets a tag of ₹21.45 Lakhs (ex-showroom). For you to know, this new edition sits at the top of all the variants.

The New Tata Safari | Design

Well, getting the first glimpse of this SUV one can easily recognize that it shares the platform with its older but smaller cousin, Harrier.

• Nevertheless, the Safari is longer wider taller than the Harrier, which is to accommodate the third row of seats.
• Also, from the front, it looks the same, minus the new grille and slightly changed bumper.
• At the rear, the similarity with the Harrier continues. The taillights though a little different looks similar to a common man’s eye.
• On the inside, the theme of look-alike is still continuing. The change? Only the colour scheme and addition of 3rd-row seats.

What Powers This Behemoth?

Let’s wrap this up fast as this gets the same powertrain and drivetrain as the Harrier.

• To begin with, Safari gets a 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo diesel engine, that puts 170hp of max power and 350Nm of peak torque.
• Sending power to the front wheels is a 6-speed manual transmission but the car also gets an option of a 6-speed AT torque converter.
• Because the new Safari underpins the Land Rover’s Omega architecture, it is possible that Tata introduces a 4X4 drivetrain in the future.
