6 Old-School WWE Wrestlers And Their Cool Cars [Part 1]

The World Wrestling Entertainment or WWE is one of the biggest entertainment sports companies in the world. Although it’s fake, special events like ‘Wrestlemania’ have crowd attendance close to the ‘Superbowl’. We all have our phases of tuning into Monday Night Raw and watch the fast-paced action or playing our favourite characters in ‘Smackdown: Here Comes the Pain’. So let’s take a good nostalgia trip to the good old days and check out 5 old-school wrestlers and their cool cars.

  1. John Cena’s 2005 Ford GT

Starting with the name that runs the place. We all have different opinions about 16x WWE Champion John Cena, but two things that we can be sure about are first, he is one of the popular wrestlers in the whole world and secondly, he has great taste in cars. One of them is a 2005 Ford GT.

It was the flagship supercar from the blue brand and is the son of the legendary Ford GT40 that won the Le Mans multiple times in the 60s and showed the world that Ford doesn’t make just people movers. It featured a 5.4 litre supercharged V8 which makes 550 bhp and shoots the car from 0-100 kph in just 3.5 seconds.

When the glass shattered and the skull symbol came on the scene, you just knew something is about to go down. Stone Cold often used to come down to the ring in a pickup ATV or even a full-size truck! He hasn’t lost his love for driving big cars and owns a Range Rover Vogue, one of the most luxurious SUVs around the world. It features a 3-litre turbocharged petrol MHEV engine making around 500 bhp. It can achieve a top speed of 225 kph.

If John Cena was the face of the company in the 00s; then it was Hulk Hogan in the 80’s and early 90s. Again, one of the most successful wrestlers and the face of the sport Hulk Hogan is a car enthusiast and his most iconic ride? The Dodge Charger Rumble Bee. The Hulkster has a lot of muscle cars in his garage but this is the most special one. It was a Charge special and had a 6.2 Hemi V8 to shoot the car in space just like Hogan did to his opponents.

  4. Bill Goldberg’s 1966 Jaguar XK-E

    Jaguar XK-E

One of the most fast-paced and dominating wrestlers in the WWE; Bill Goldberg was one of the attractions that made people switch from WWE to WCW(their rival company). He destroyed his opponents and had a massive winning streak of 173-0! That’s bonkers! Goldberg is a proud car enthusiast and is also a host of Ballrun; an automotive-themed show on the ‘Speed Channel’.

He has a big garage with some iconic cars, but the biggest attraction has to be the 1966 Jaguar XK-E Series 1 Convertible. Possibly the most beautiful car in the world (Enzo Ferrari agrees with me), the Jag is the only non-American car in his garage. It featured a massive V12 which gave this beauty a 0-100 timing of fewer than 7 seconds and a top speed of 214 kph; something unheard of in the ’60s. The story behind this car is that Goldberg bought this beauty from a friend for just $11 and then he restored it from scratch. Great luck and crazy dedication!

  5. Ronda Rousey’s 2005 Honda Accord

Lastly, it is the UFC champion and part-time wrestler Ronda Rousey. Now we know that neither the wrestler is iconic nor the car, but the story behind this is one to listen to. It teaches you a lot about life and tells you that: Nothing comes without struggle and dedication.

Ronda bought this car in the early days of her judo career and it was not just her commute, but her wardrobe, her dining room and sometimes; even her bedroom. Despite all this struggle she never gave up and has achieved a lot in her life. After a long relationship, Ronda autographed the car from the inside and sold it at a charity auction. What an inspiration!

  6. The Great Khali’s 2017 Fortuner

    Toyota Fortuner

How can we finish off this list without talking about the wrestler who made India relevant in WWE! Yes, that’s right, none other than the 7 foot giant from Punjab, the Great Khali. Although he is retired now, he has his own wrestling academy and some of the most iconic cars in India. He owns a pre-facelift Fortuner (which looks like an Alto beside him), a Toyota Glanza (not sure how he fits in it) and ‘Punjab di Shaan’, Bullet which should be renamed as ‘Khali di cycle’.
