Recently Renault Triber, India’s cheapest MPV has scored a 4-star crash test rating in adult occupancy. The test was conducted by Global NCAP under the #SaferCarsForIndia operation. If you are not aware, Global NCAP picks up random cars from India and test their tolerances to deliver safer cars for India.
Before we discuss the crash test, here is what the Renault Triber offers.
Renault Triber Safety Equipment
To begin with, the Triber in the crash test came equipped with just the basics. This includes:
- 4 channel ABS with EBD
- Dual Airbags (Driverside and Passenger side)
- Seatbelt reminder
- Seatbelt pre-tensioners
In addition to that, with many carmakers introducing ISO-FIX child seat anchors, sadly Renault Triber is deprived of this feature. Hence, a little low rating for the child occupancy.
All about the Crash Test Rating
Well, Global NCAP tests the cars at a speed of 64km/h and checks various aspects including bodyshell integrity, child occupancy, adult occupancy and more.
As per the report, the overall result does show that the Renault Triber is safe. And the body parts that witnessed good protection are:

Well, the driver’s chest has marginal protection whereas the passenger’s chest showed adequate protection. Talking about the head, it was also well protected and was rated as good.
Then these showed adequate protection:
- Passenger’s chest
- Driver and Passenger’s tibias
In the end, the report also states that the bodyshell was unstable and was not capable of talking further loads. In addition to that, the footwell area was also rated as stable.
