Royal Enfield Trademarks ‘Shotgun’!

Bike lovers assemble! Royal Enfield has just dropped in the biggest piece of news where they have trademarked a new name for their upcoming bike! On the launch of the Meteor 350, RE’s CEO, Vinod Dasari confirmed that the company plans to launch a new bike every quarter for the next 7 years. This means they have over 25+ new machines in mind and for new machines, you need new names!

The latest news in town is that Royal Enfield has trademarked the name ‘Shotgun’ for its upcoming machine. What seems to be a new addition in the 650cc segment of Royal Enfield, the name could be quite appropriate for the machine and would go absolutely well with the performance expectations too. The 650cc Royal Enfield trend debuted in 2018 with the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 motorcycles.

Bike spotters around India have clicked several pictures from which we have been able to make out that they are planning on two 650cc bikes. One of them is a cruiser-style bike that resembles the Meteor 350 so will most likely be called the Meteor 650. The second one has got upright ergonomics with mid-set footpegs. We expect Royal Enfield to call this bike the Shotgun. Although there is no official information yet, RE could also save the name for later as we already said they are planning to launch a new bike every quarter!

While we can expect the 650 a little later, the launch of the next-gen Classic 350 is just around the corner! Also, they have been testing a roadster style 350cc bike that will rival the Honda CBR350 once it arrives in the market.
