September 2021 Car Sales Report

Despite the COVID protocols, the automobile industry in India is booming like never before. New cars from different carmakers have started coming on the top list, and some best selling ars have seen a dip. Amidst all the ups and downs yet again, Maruti Suzuki Alto has topped the sales charts yet again! So, let’s have a look in detail what are the top-selling cars for the month of September.

    Yet again, the top spot is taken by one of the most potent and oldest vehicles in the market, the Maruti Suzuki Alto. Launched in 2000, Maruti Alto is doing wonders for the company since its launch. From the day of its launch, Maruti Suzuki Alto has been among the top-selling cars in the market, and still, it indeed is selling the most in India. Though considering the sales of 2020 September, the car has witnessed a dip of about 33%.

    The second on the list is another Maruti; taking this spot is the seven seater vehicle, Ertiga. Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is among the most affordable MPV you can buy in the market. Not only family people, but Ertiga is also super common as a taxi. But this time, it is the CNG trim that is famous among taxi drivers. Considering the sales last year, Ertiga saw a jump of 13%, which is okay considering the current situation.

    There always is a Korean brand in the top ten selling cars in the country. This time around, Kia, Hyundai’s sibling, has surpassed its immediate rival Creta in terms of sales numbers. Standing as the third spot, we have the Kia Seltos. This mere 3 star rated vehicle faired well for the company after its launch. After its launch, this compact SUV did well, but say a sudden dip after a while. But Kia kept pampering the Seltos with minor updates that have allowed the SUV to arrive in the third spot.

    Now, let’s talk about the first vehicle to be on the list that followed the #madeinindia trend. It is the Tata Nexon, that finally has surpassed its arch-rival, Maruti Virata.
