Czech auto major Skoda seems to be working rigorously on the next-gen Octavia RS which expected to make its first appearance at the upcoming 2020 Geneva Motor Show. However, with less than a month before its official reveal a spec-sheet for the next-gen Octavia RS has surfaced the internet which clearly hints that the Octavia RS could feature a diesel-powered engine as well.
- The mere engine in question is a 2.0-litre TDI diesel unit which will feature in the RS-badged Skoda Octavia for the very first time. The diesel unit is capable of generating almost 197bhp and will come mated to a 7-speed DSG.
- The diesel engine will then be joined by the standard 2.0-litre TSI petrol unit pushing out the maximum power output to 245bhp and will be offered with either six-speed manual or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

- The next-gen Octavia RS will also have a 108bhp 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine mated to a six-speed manual and a mild-hybrid version of the same engine accompanied by a seven-speed DSG. Additionally, we can also expect to see a more powerful 200bhp 1.4-litre plug-in hybrid as well.
- For all those eco-friendly geeks Skoda will also launch CNG version which is expected to support a 1.5-litre TSI unit which will churn 128bhp and could come mated to a 7-speed DSG.
- If and when launched, the next-gen Skoda Octavia RS is likely to rival the likes of the upcoming Hyundai Elantra, Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla Altis.
