It was just last month that when Czech carmaker Skoda launched the latest iteration of the brand’s top-selling mid-size sedan the 2020 Skoda Rapid with prices starting from 7.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However recently some reports have stormed the internet stating that Skoda has stopped taking bookings of the 2020 Skoda Rapid. But why?
The reason cited behind Skoda not taking any more booking of the entry-level variant the 2020 Skoda Rapid Rider is due to high demand. Surprisingly the Czech carmaker did not reveal when it would re-open the bookings for the designated variant. Rumour also has it that Skoda could hike the prices of the rider edition before re-opening the booking.

On the outside, the Rapid Rider gets 15-inch steel wheels with plastic wheel covers, Halogen headlights, Trunk lip garnish, Scuff plate. The rider variant is available in two colour options only; Candy White and Carbon Steel.
While the features on the inside include Height adjustable front seatbelts with Adjustable front headrests, front and rear centre armrests, rake and reach adjustable steering, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth, USB, Aux connectivity and four speakers, automatic climate control, telescopic steering wheel, rear AC vents, auto adjustable wing mirrors, one-touch power windows, 12V charging socket at the front and rear.
Talking about safety, the 2020 Rapid Rider gets some of the basic safety features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, Rear parking sensors, Rear defogger and Remote central locking.

Coming to the most important part with its launch the 2020 Rapid rider had to compete with the likes of the old town bad boys such as the ever-shining Honda City which is due to get a revamp with its upcoming 5th generation model, Hyundai Verna, Honda Amaze and the by far the most subtle product from India’s biggest carmaker the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
