If you’re looking to buy an SUV, you should really reconsider your decision, unless you want to wait for a minimum of 16 weeks. India’s beloved Safari was launched earlier last year, and people love it. This love is showing in the waiting periods which are now lasting up to 4 months for this 7 seater SUV. The 5-seater variant, ie the Harrier also stands neck to neck with a 4 month waiting period.

There’s no end to the waiting periods on the XUV700. This SUV is so overbooked that many customers have estimated delivery dates of 2023! The XUV700 is no doubt, an excellent product, but the waiting periods are a deal-breaker for many potential customers.

Enthusiasts had waited a long time before they could see the charm and capabilities of the Thar in a new avatar. If you’re looking to own a Thar right now, you won’t be seeing it for a long time. Dealers are quoting waiting periods of up to 10 months for the beast.

MG’s Hector has also suffered from the hit of semiconductor shortage. While this SUV never had elongated waiting periods earlier, they have come up to 4 months in recent months. Hector’s plush interior, ample space and a gazillion features make it a very desirable SUV, especially for chauffeur-driven customers.

Kia Motors have sold over 200,000 cars in India in a very short period of time. They have gained immense popularity in the sub-20Lakh segment. As of today, depending on the variant you choose, a Kia Seltos is going to have you waiting for at least 4-6 months.

The Suzuki Ertiga is a decently comfortable and reliable people mover in a very affordable price range. The CNG variant of the Ertiga is in very high demand as it is the only MUV that comes with a factory-installed CNG Kit, all others are available only in Petrol or Diesel variants. The waiting period on this one is around 6-8 months as of now.

The Kia Sonnet is Kia’s answer to the Hyundai Venue and the Tata Nexon. There aren’t a lot of options in this segment and when the Sonnet came in along with some segment-first features like Ventilated Seats and Front Parking Sensors, the new buyers received it really well. Right now, the Kia Sonnet has a waiting period of up to 7 months.
