Altroz is among India’s safest hatchbacks, and Tata has just launched the automatic. It had been on the road for more than two years with more than 1.25 lakh happy customers, and the numbers are still rising. Let’s see what we know about the DCA transmission:

New DCA Transmission
This new advanced dual-clutch automatic technology equips Altroz with a wet clutch for a smooth and flawless driving experience. The wet clutch technology has been customized to help drivers tackle Indian roads and traffic situations.

However, this new transmission will only be available with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine. The reason behind this is still unknown; this engine churns out 86hp only. Tata might introduce this gearbox in the more powerful engines later.

New Opera Blue Paint Job

Along with the new transmission Tata also launched a new version of the blue colour for the Altroz. A new Opera Blue paint scheme will now be available for the hatchback’s XT, XZ, XZ+ trims.

This new DCA transmission will also be available with the dark variant of the Altroz. A teaser featuring this darker shade of blue was also released recently. However, there will not be any other cosmetic changes to the exterior.

Bookings Open
The long floating rumours about the Altroz automatic testing can now rest with this new gearbox. Tata has opened the booking for a token amount of ₹21,000; you can head to your nearest dealership. The word around says the deliveries are also set to begin this month.

Rajan Amba, Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Customer Care, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd., commented the following on the new product:
