Tata Altroz EV – Here’s a CLOSER look!

Tata Altroz is already in production in the Indian market and all of us saw the EV version of the hatchback at the Auto Expo 2020. Electric vehicles seem to be the promising future of the automotive industry across the globe. In India too, many automakers have already put electric vehicles on sale. Tata, being one of them has made the Nexon EV available for the buyers. Other new EVs in India include the Hyundai Kona, MG ZS EV and the Tata Nexon as stated before.

We saw the Tata Altroz EV at the Auto Expo 2020 and those wondering about its launch will have to wait till 2021 arrives. We can expect the EV to arrive here in the next 12 months. Till then, let’s have a look at what we know about the EV till now.

Talking about the outer body, we see that the Tata Altroz EV borrows most of the elements from the IC version that is currently in production. Tata Motors first showcased the Altroz EV prototype at the Geneva Motor show 2019. It looks almost the same as the IC version with some additional elements that make it look like an EV.

The Tata Altroz EV has got the same styling elements in a new unique Teal Blue colour shade with electric blue accents which help us differentiate it from the IC variants.

Inside the cabin of the Tata Altroz EV, we see similar ice blue accents and the floating centre console is a unique feature which the audience will like for sure. Talking about the battery specs, the second EV in Tata’s lineup is set to borrow the same battery specification from the Nexon EV. According to a Tata executive at the Auto Expo, we can expect a range of almost 280-300 kms from this vehicle on a single charge.

The EV competition is growing with time and almost all the automakers have invested in setting up the EV infrastructure. EV is definitely the future but we are yet to see who leads the segment!
