After the success of the Nexon EV, Tata Motors is all set to add another electric car to its India line-up and this time its the electrified version of India’s most premium hatchback., The Tata Altroz EV.
The Altroz has already been a major stakeholder in the overall sales in India but will the electrified version of the premium hatchback be able to do the magic.
Coming back to the topic, reports have poured in that the all-new Tata Altroz EV will offer a range of 500km on a single charge. If it’s true then the Altroz EV will be the only electric vehicle to offer such a range.
The new premium electric hatchback will make use of Tata’s Ziptron electric powertrain and will also get an additional battery pack offering 40% more range compared to other electric cars on sale in India.
It is also speculated that the Tata Nexon EV facelift will also come with an additional battery pack, which will increase the power of the Nexon EV by 25%. As of now, the electric sub-compact SUV comes powered by a 30.2 kWh battery pack.
This helps the car to produce 124hp with an ARAI certified range of 312 on a single charge. However, there have been cases where many owners have complained that the Nexon EV does offer the range claimed by Tata and ARAI.
Although, many of us have been eagerly waiting for Tata to launch India’s first premium electric EV. Another interesting thing to be noticed will be, if Tata will be able to maintain the quality it claims to offer.
