Tata Altroz has already created a lot of buzz. All of us know by now that Altroz is a premium hatchback being planned by Tata for the Indian market. Tata has already kicked off the advance bookings and plans to launch the car in India on 22nd Jan 2020. That’s not all. There is a Tata Altroz JTP version in works.

Online rumours suggest that Tata Altroz JTP has a 110Bhp diesel engine variant on cards! We haven’t received any confirmation about this until now. Still, if we go by the rumours, we can expect the new version to be launched by early 2021. The automaker is most likely to roll out a JTP variant for the Altroz as they did for the Tiago. Unlike Tiago, the JTP version of the Altroz will have a diesel-powered engine!

Although no official statements have been released, we can expect the Tata Altroz JTP to have the same engine as the Nexon. We can expect Tata to release some official statement only after BS6 kicks in. Tata is just about to enter the premium hatch segment. Once launched, the Altroz will be a tough competition for the already existing Hyundai i20, Honda Jazz and of course, the Maruti Suzuki Baleno.
As of now, Tata is launching the initial version of the new premium hatch on 22nd January 2020. The Altroz comes with a 1.2L, 3-cylinder petrol producing 85 BHP of power and a 1.5L, 4-cylinder diesel producing 89 BHP of power. Both the engines will be coupled with a manual gearbox. No automatic variant of the Altroz has been announced till now.

Tata Altroz looks appealing from the images we have seen till now. The design is absolutely class apart from what we have seen in Tata’s lineup till now. No doubt, Tata Altroz will grab a lot of eyeballs as soon as it hits the market and the Indian roads.
