Tata Altroz Racer | The Premium Hot Hatch!

Introduction

Tata Motors is set to launch the Altroz Racer the premium version of Tata Motors’ hatchback offering. It gets a number of upgrades over the standard Altroz, a sporty hatchback that has been in development for the past few years. The car will be available with 120 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. Tata Motors is also planning to offer an option between these two versions – 6-speed manual or 6-speed DCT transmission – making it easier for buyers who want more than just a practical car.

From what we’ve heard so far, the engine on this car is pretty impressive! It produces 120 bhp at 6000 rpm while conceding only 10% more torque than its predecessor; the same goes for its fuel consumption too – it returns an average figure of 21 km/l across all variants.

As convenient as iMT and DCT may be, most enthusiasts will go for a manual any day of the year

As convenient as iMT and DCT may be, most enthusiasts will go for a manual any day of the year. This is because they are more engaging, fun to drive and responsive. A manual gearbox allows you to enjoy driving in all conditions, not just when you’re on an expressway with nothing but an open road ahead of you!

Altroz gets a 6-speed Manual, just not with i-Turbo variants.

Prices could be between Rs. 9 – 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Will this be enough to spark the attention of sporty premium hatchback buyers

Tata Altroz Racer will be priced between Rs 9 – 10 lakh (ex-showroom), which is lower than the price of its competitors like the Hyundai i20 N, On paper, it looks like a very good deal if you’re looking for an entry-level hot hatchback with features that offer value for money. Will this be enough to spark the attention of sporty premium hatchback buyers?

The Tata Altroz Racer certainly looks like an exciting option for those who want something different from the usual offerings in this segment. The car comes loaded with features such as dual airbags, ABS brakes, and power steering and sunroof among others which make it more appealing than many other cars in its class

Our Take: Tata Altroz Racer

The Racer is the premium version of Tata Motors’ hatchback offering. It gets a number of upgrades over the standard Altroz, which looks like a great car in its own right. With an expected price of Rs. 9 lahks (ex-sh) on road, the Altroz Racer will be competing against cars like the Hyundai I20 N line.
