Tata Cars to Get ADAS from Next Month?

This trend began when a Chinese-owned English Carmaker Morris Garages launched its first compact SUV in the Indian market, The MG Astor. The Astor was no ordinary car, as it was the first car in India to come with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).

Following this, all carmakers in India began introducing their version of the ADAS tech. And now one of India’s biggest carmakers Tata Motors is all set to join the ADAS gang. It is expected that Tata will be introducing the Level-1 ADAS tech with the launch of the Tata Harrier & Safari Red Dark Edition.

• Certain media reports suggest that the Tata Harrier & Safari Red Dark Edition will be launched in March 2023.
• Both cars are set to be the first cars from Tata to get Level-1 ADAS
• However, the powertrain on both the Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari is expected to remain the same.
• Both cars will continue to be powered by the exact same 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo-diesel engine which is now RDE compliant.
• This powertrain produces 168bhp of power with a peak torque of 350Nm whilst mated to a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter gearbox.
• Both the Tata Safari & Harrier Red Dark Edition will get a Carnelian Red-themed interior with diamond-shaped quilted seats, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital TFT instrument console, and a 9-speaker JBL sound system among others.

• Stepping outside, both cars will be offered with a new Oberon Black Body Colour with Zricon red inserts.
• We will also get to see 18-inch Blackstone alloy wheels on the new Tata Harrier & Safari Red Dark Edition.
• The ADAS tech on Tata’s new Red Dark Edition gets features like Lane Departure Warning, Lane Change Alert, High Beam Assist, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Detection and Traffic Sign Recognition.
