Tata Impact 2.0 – How It Changed The Indian Car Market!

Tata Motors has been winning Indian hearts for decades now. However, in the last 4 – 5 years, our love for Tata cars has gone up beyond what any car enthusiast could imagine. Now, until 2015, Tata was perceived to be just another carmaker struggling to get hold of the market. But ever since the Tata Impact 2.0 designs have come into play, things have changed for good. Here’s why the Impact 2.0 design has been winning Indian hearts!

  • Tata Impact 2.0 – The origin
    -Tata Impact 2.0 – the second version of the original Impact design that was showcased on the Zest and the Bolt
    – Pratap Bose (Ex-Head of Design at Tata) aimed at making future Tata cars “clutter-free” and easy to use
    – Impact 2.0 was applied to Tata’s ALFA and OMEGA platforms
    – The new design was set to make cars more high-tech, both for the drivers and the passengers
    – Impact 2.0 focused on aesthetic designs wrapped around a solid structure to ensure safety.

  • How has the Tata Impact 2.0 design been beneficial?

Well, all the cars after the Tata Bolt have been following this design pattern. Be it the Nexon, Altroz, Tiago, Harrier, Punch, or the Safari. All these cars have come to become the go-to choices for many buyers.
– Better looking cars attracted herds of buyers to Tata showrooms
– Strong safety ratings have set Tata cars miles ahead of many competitors
– Tata cars have been selling in more numbers than Hyundai, Kia, and Mahindra for more than two months
– With increased sales, Tata has focused on improving the quality of service and many customers can vouch for the same

  • Impact 2.0’s impact on safety

Safety was a big priority when the Impact 2.0 design was being developed. The Nexon was India’s first car to receive a 5-star rating in the GNCAP crash test. The Altroz was next in Tata’s lot to be tested and it also got a 5-star rating. Subsequently, the Tiago, Tigor, and the Tigor EV also got tested and received a 4-star rating!
