Tata Nexon EV, Hyundai Kona and MG ZS EV to get Cheaper by ₹1.50 Lakh in Delhi

The Delhi state government has recently introduced its own Electric Vehicle Policy to tackle the air pollution problem and to push the EV adoption in the capital.

Under the new electric vehicle policy, the government will waive off the registration fee and road tax for the next three years and provide an additional incentive of ₹1.5 lakh on the purchase of electric vehicles in the national capital.

The newly allocated ₹1.50 lakh incentive will be given up and above previous tax incentive of upto ₹2.5 lakh announced under FAME II last year by the central government.

Interestingly, these benefits will only be applicable to the first 1,000 private buyers in the Delhi region.

This means that the existing EV’s like the Tata Nexon EV which ranges between ₹ 13.99 lakh-₹15.99 lakh will now get cheaper by ₹1.50 lakh. The same will go for other available EVs like the Hyundai Kona and the recently launched MG ZS EV.

The government has also introduced further incentives of ₹6000 to enhance the charging infrastructure in the national capital. However, just as before the ₹6000 incentive will only be provided on the first 30,000 charging points established existing private or public properties.
