As mentioned earlier, you have a budget of 10 lakhs, right? Both cars have variants that lie under this budget. Tata Nexon XM(S) variant comes at a price of ₹9,44,014 while you also have an option to go for the XMA AMT variant which will cost you ₹9,52,846. Do note that the XZ Plus S variant is one above the XZ Plus. And when we come to the Honda Amaze, you get the top-spec VX variant with CVT transmission for ₹9,88,414 and if you don’t fancy an automatic, you will be saving almost ₹1,00,000 for the same variant.

The comparison looks random for sure. One car offers a top-spec variant while the other has second to the base variant under the same price bracket. Well, there is much more to the story, so just keep on reading.

Now, it’s time for the dimension comparison.

"2020

We know from the previous edition as to why this comparison is necessary. So, without wasting any time, let’s dive right into it.

Tata Nexon Honda Amaze
Length (mm) 3,993 3,995
Width (mm) 1,811 1,695
Height (mm) 1,606 1,501
Wheelbase (mm) 2,498 2,470
Ground Clearance (mm) 209 170
Boot Space (litres) 350 420

Being an SUV, be it a compact one, Tata Nexon surely has a wider and taller road presence than the Amaze. A better wheelbase ensures better legroom in the Tata Nexon. And the higher ground clearance allows Tata Nexon to cruise over potholes better than the Amaze. What more can we expect from an SUV? On the other hand, the extra boot space at the Amaze surely acts as a saviour when more space is required.

  1. Nexon does not have impact sensing door unlock feature, an important feature for safety. Amaze has this feature. Even I found Kiger does not have this feature. Is it not important? Any expert comments on this please.

    • Hi there,
Well yes! when considering safety impact sensing door locks can in real handy in some serious accidents situations. The door locks automatically unlock if and when the car senses an impact.

  2. Why many cars like Nexon, Baleno, Kiger and other latest cars with so many other attractive features are missing on this. Are there other alternatives to “Impact Sensing Unlock” available in these cars?
