Buying An XUV700? Wait For The Tata Safari Facelift!

The Mahindra XUV700 has proved itself very well in the market. So much so that even after ~1.5 years of its launch, waiting periods are as high as 1 year. But it is the best product in the segment, right? Well, yes. The engine is powerful, and the features are top-notch. However, in 2023, Tata is looking to beat the XUV700 with the new Safari. The much-awaited facelift on the Safari will bring it neck-to-neck with the XUV700. So if you’re buying an XUV700 right now, you should wait for the Tata Safari facelift!

  • What is the comparison like right now?

Today, the XUV700 offers many more features than the Tata Safari. The screens are bigger, better to use, and don’t fail as often. Most importantly, the XUV gets ADAS. This brings along multiple features like adaptive cruise, auto emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, etc. The Safari currently doesn’t offer any of these features. What works for the Safari is rear seat space, comfort, looks, and third-row space. It also gets ventilated seats in the first and second rows, which is a segment first feature. Apart from this, the Safari is much more stable at high speeds and the body roll is supremely contained. 2021 Mahindra XUV700

  • What’s new with the Tata Safari facelift?

The facelifted version of the Tata Safari and Harrier will get proper ADAS tech. The new feature pack will also include a much-needed 360-degree camera. Apart from this, Tata will fit in a new infotainment screen that will be bigger and smoother to operate. There will be some design changes as well, but they are not revealed yet. Tata’s flagship SUVs will continue with the same FIAT-sourced 2L Kryotec Diesel engine that makes 168HP and 350nm. Transmission options will be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed AT.

  • Is the Tata Safari facelift worth the wait?

It definitely is worth the wait! Moreover, as an XUV700 buyer, waiting is your forte, right? With the updated design and features, the Safari and Harrier will be just as good as the XUV in every aspect. Yes, the diesel engine on the XUV is a bit more powerful, but Tata SUVs handle better, so performance is also similar.
