Tiago CNG Spied Testing! Here’s What You Need To Know

After conquering the EV world, Tata Motors has decided to step into the CNG market. The Tiago will be the first-ever car that Tata plans on selling with the option of a CNG. This is an excellent move from Tata, both for us buyers and for the company. CNG kits are the seaway to alternative fuels, and they have been in the market for a while. This step will enable the masses to explore different engine options and save prices on Petrol and Diesel. More importantly, this might just be the gap between ICE and EVs. Let’s see what the Tiago CNG stores for us!

  1. What’s different about the Tiago CNG?

Well, as you guessed the CNG kit is the only difference on the Tiago CNG. Tata does not plan on branding it too differently from the existing product. The only thing added will be the ‘CNG’ tag at the back of the hatchback. It will get the same interiors, features and possibly the same engine as well. On the feature front, the Tiago CNG will be equipped with a Harman infotainment unit, climate control, multi-function steering and a JBL sound system. These are some premium features that other CNG cars in the market lack.

  1. Safety

This is another thing other CNG cars in the market lack. Safety features will be similar to the ICE variant as well. Rear sensors, ABS with EBD, 2 Airbags and Corner Stability Control are some things that will be offered throughout the line-up. The Tiago has already scored a 4-Star Rating in the Global NCAP.

  1. Why did Tata choose the Tiago for a CNG?

Start small, isn’t that what we always say when trying out new things? That’s exactly what Tata has followed. The Tiago is the best car to add a CNG kit to because it’s a budget hatchback. People buying it give a lot of importance to things like fuel efficiency and value for money. A CNG variant means that one doesn’t have to worry about the mileage as much anymore, thus helping Tata in catering to a much larger audience. This will also help Tata in making a comeback into the Cab Market.

So a much safer, more premium and feature-loaded hatchback is about to enter the CNG market. Beware, competitors!
