Tata Tigor EV to offer 200km+ Range?

A few days ago, one of India’s largest carmakers Tata revealed the brand’s first electrified sub-compact sedan, The 2021 Tata Tigor EV.

Although the brand has an EV line-up but is aimed towards commercial buyers while the new 2021 Tata Tigor EV is aimed towards private buyers. During its global debut, it was revealed that the new Tigor EV will be launched on 31st August closely followed by its deliveries.

With just a few days to go from its official launch, the all-new Tigor EV has been spied undisguised at select dealerships which also reveals what the Tigor EV has to offer in terms of mileage.

  • Looking at the most prominent spyshot we can clearly see on its digital instrument cluster the EV still has a range of 204km charge at 59% charge.
  • This clearly indicates that the new Tigor EV could have a 350km range on a full single charge.

  • On the inside, the Tigor EV looks similar to its electrified SUV cousin, The Tata Nexon EV

  • Apart from some of the minor cosmetic changes like a new colour options, blue accents on the alloy and the EV badging everything seems to resemble its ICE cousin.

What powers the new 2021 Tata Tigor EV?

  • As seen on the Tata Nexon the new Tigor EV uses the same advanced Ziptron powered 300V+ architecture and uses a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that produces 75hp and 170Nm of peak torque on the Tigor EV. This allows it to go from 0 to 50kph in 5.7 seconds.
Charging
  • The brand also offers an IP67 rating 26kW lithium-ion battery pack. powered by the new Ziptron tech.
  • With a DC fast charger the Tigor EV charges from 0-80% in less than 60 minutes.
  • While the same can be achieved via regular AC charger in under 9 hours.
  • The brand is also offering an 8 years/ 1,60,000km battery and motor warranty.
