It’s the electric hand of Tata who has just revealed the brands first electrified sub-compact sedan, The Tata Tigor EV and for those who might be thinking that Tata recently launched the Tata Tigor EV.

Well, that was the Tata Tigor Xpress T which has been targeted for commercial buyers and features a very standard battery pack. The newly unveiled Tata Tigor EV is aimed towards private buyers and is powered by Tata’s Ziptron technology.

What powers the new 2021 Tata Tigor EV?

Ziptron Tech
  • As seen on the Tata Nexon the new Tigor EV uses the same advanced Ziptron powered 300V+ architecture and uses a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor that produces 75hp and 170Nm of peak torque on the Tigor EV. This allows it to go from 0 to 50kph in 5.7 seconds.
Charging
  • The brand also offers an IP67 rating 26kW lithium-ion battery pack. powered by the new Ziptron tech.
  • With a DC fast charger the Tigor EV charges from 0-80% in less than 60 minutes.
  • While the same can be achieved via regular AC charger in under 9 hours.
  • The brand is also offering an 8 years/ 1,60,000km battery and motor warranty.

What’s on the feature end?

Infotainment System
  • On the feature end, the Tigor EV features a 7.0-inch touchscreen Harman branded infotainment system accompanied by 4 speakers and 4 tweeters.
TATA iRA Tech
  • It also gets Tata’s iRA Tech with over 30 connected car features.
Auto Climate control
  • Other features include automatic climate control, auto-folding ORVMs, height-adjustable driver’s seat, push start button, and height-adjustable driver’s seat.
Auto ORVMs
  • The new 2021 Tigor EV is expected to feature projector headlamps with LED DRL’s.
    Other cosmetic changes include new alloy wheels with blue accents, multiple colour options, a new enclosed grille and Ziptron badging on the boot.
