  • What is Headlight Leveling?

Headlight Levelers are usually placed on the right side of the steering column. It is a rotary knob with the numbers 1-5 on it. These numbers are the levels on which your headlight can be adjusted. As you increase this number, you will notice that the headlights slowly start focusing their throw downwards.

  • When can Headlight Leveling be used?

There can be multiple instances where this feature can be used. For example, when driving up a hill, we can lower the focus of the headlights and have much better road visibility instead of the light just throwing itself towards the sky.

  • Why is it just for lowering the throw?

The Headlight Leveler only lowers the throw because we already have a high beam function if we want a higher-up throw from our headlights. We can also use the leveller and the high beam function simultaneously to ease things for oncoming traffic.

  1. Its also used when car is loaded with people and luggage. In this case back of the car is further down but front axel has nearly same weight so light beam goes upward on 0, so you have to manually bring it down.

  2. Explanation is not enough.

When you have heavy passengers/load at the rear seat/ trunk in Cars/ SUVs especially those that have Coil springs at the rear suspension, the rear part will sink perceivable due to which the head lamp will shift its aim higher above the normal setting. So to bring it back to normal this setting is useful.
