Top 10 Best Selling Car Brands (Car Sales Report June 2022)

Another month has passed, and brands have revealed their sales report. While this month has witnessed some promising launches, such as the Mahindra Scorpio N, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza & Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, it has been profitable for most manufacturers. We have Skoda with the highest YoY growth, followed by Tata & Toyota. Let’s look at the top 10 best-selling car brands:

  1. Maruti Suzuki-1,22,685 cars

    Maruti Suzuki has been the top performer but has noticed a slight decline. The leading brand’s sales reports accounted for a 1.3% decline in the YoY growth. They sold 1,22,685 cars this year compared to the 1,24,280 cars sold in June 2021. WagonR has been their top performer & the numbers might catch up next month with their new Brezza in the market.

  2. Hyundai-49,001 cars

    Hyundai has been running second with a 21% YoY growth. The Korean manufacturer managed to sell 49,001 cars this year which is slightly more than the 40,496 cars last year. Creta has been their best-selling product which might, and they also launched the Venue facelift this year!

    Tata has been closely competing with Hyundai, with 45,200 cars sold last month. The sales report suggests a massive 87% YoY growth as they only sold 24,111 cars in the previous June. Nexon has been performing well for the manufacturer with its respective IC engine & EV variants.

  4. Mahindra-26,880 cars

    Mahindra launched the Scorpio-N this month; it was one of the most awaited SUVs, and as the brand says, the Big Daddy of SUVs has finally arrived in the market. The numbers next month will have the new Scorpio’s share. The brand reported a 58.9% YoY growth, with 26,880 SUVs sold this June. Bolero & XUV700 were its top-performing products.

  5. Kia-24,024 cars

    Considering the recent prominent launches, Kia also launched their first electric car, EV6, into the Indian market. Their sales report also accounted for a 60% YoY growth, with 24,024 cars sold this month. Sonet & Seltos were their top-selling cars, with around 4,612 units of their new MPV Carens.

  6. Toyota-16,512 cars

    Toyota also launched the first product of their collaboration with Maruti Suzuki, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. It is the first hybrid mid-size SUV in the market that offers AWD. They also accounted for a significant YoY growth of 87.7%, with 16,512 cars sold last month. Innova Crysta & Fortuner still perform well, and Toyota also mentioned increasing demand for other products such as Glanza.

  7. Renault-9,317 cars

    Renault has also been catching up with its latest product Kiger. Their sales report accounted for a 52.7 YoY growth with 9,317 cars sold last month. Kiger & Kwid might be the brand’s best-performing products, while the Duster is still missed by some fans.

  8. Honda-7,384 cars

    Honda launched its first candidate into the electrification race, Honda City e: HEV, with an excellent fuel efficiency of 26.5kmpl. Their latest product attracted a lot of attention as City has been a top performer in the sedan segment. They managed to sell 7,384 cars last month, accounting for a 64.3% YoY growth.

  9. Skoda-6,023 cars

    Skoda has tried re-igniting the sedan segment with its latest launch, Slavia. They had the most significant YoY growth as compared to the competition. Their sales report accounted for a 720.6% YoY growth. This is the highest ever monthly sales due to products such as Kushaq & Slavia. They managed to sell 6,023 cars last month, which is significantly more than the 734 units in last year June.

  10. MG-4,503 cars

    The last brand on our top 10 list is MG, with 4,503 cars sold last month. They accounted for a 27% YoY growth and sold more than the 3,558 units sold last year in June. MG Hector & ZS EV have been their profitable products.
