Top 10 Selling Cars in India January 2023 | Alto Standing Strong!

The first month of the new year was an outstanding one for the Indian automotive industry and with January 2023 coming to an end, we have brought to you, the list of the top 10 selling cars in the previous month. Here are the top 10 selling cars in India in January 2023. When we move into the data, you will realise that every Indian machine has garnered a YoY and an MoM growth figure.

Maruti Suzuki, as always has the majority and this time, 7 out of 10 cars are from the Indian automaker. Alto has the lead with the sale of 21,411 units. For the first month of 2023, the total number of cars sold in India was 1,54,669 units with a YoY growth of 21.44% and an MoM growth of 35.15%. The recently introduced Alto Black edition has significantly contributed in increasing the sales number. At the second position is the Maruti WagonR with a sale of 20,466 units.

The third position is the Maruti Swift with a YoY de-growth of 13.96% with 16,440 units sold in the last month. Moving on, we have Baleno with a whopping 140% increase in the YoY sale figure. Apart from the surprising YoY growth, Baleno has also turned out to be the largest-selling premium hatchback for the year 2022 with a sale of 3,53,012 units.

Moving on, we have the Tata Nexin with a sale of 15,567 units which happens to be the first non-Maruti car in the list of top 10 selling cars for January 2023. This has reported a growth of 12.67% YoY and the increasing demand for SUVs in India has also led to a great increase in Creta’s sales figure which has given us a YoY growth of 52.37%

In the 7th place, we have the Maruti Brezza with a sale of 14,359 units and almost 50% yearly growth in sales. Well, the increasing trend and demand for the SUV design is so up that the Tata Punch is also here on the list. Followed by Eeco and Dzire, we complete the list with a total of 1,54,669 units and an overall YoY growth of 21.44%.
