Top Electric Vehicles Showcased At Auto Expo 2020

The future was showcased with the EV at Auto Expo 2020. The motor show was the one showcasing the future. The event saw some amazing concepts and unveilings. But, the main attraction at the show were the electric cars.

Electric vehicles are going to lead the automotive industry soon and the Expo was the witness to that notion. From Tata to Mahindra and from Renault to Maruti, everyone showcased their electric prowess at the Auto Expo 2020.

Let’s have a look at some of the most promising cars showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 which might be running on the Indian roads soon.

  1. Mahindra Funster Electric Concept

    The Indian carmaker entered the electric car market in India way before the others. At the Auto Expo 2020, Mahindra unveiled the Funster. The car might seem a bit unconventional from the house of Mahindra as it is a roadster. The car looks rather funky and the design seems futuristic and radical. The main attraction is the performance. Mahindra claims that the car can go from 0 to 100 in 5 seconds flat.

    The Great Wall Motors made its entry the talking point of the event. Chinese carmaker launched a variety of cars at the Auto Expo 2020, ranging from the Haval SUV to electric vehicles. The main attraction although, was the Ora R1. We wouldn’t be wrong in calling the car the Maruti 800 of the EVs. It was launched at the expo and is the world’s cheapest electric car currently. The R1 has a rather mild design but it surely packs a punch when it comes to mileage. Ora R1 delivers a range of 350 kilometres on a single charge.

    The largest car manufacturer of the country showcased the Futuro E concept vehicle at the Auto Expo 2020. Futuro E Concept looks rather stunning. The coupe-like designing which ends up slanting at the roof sets the entire profile of the vehicle. The vehicle design is a basis for future vehicles from Maruti.

    The Renault K-Ze was showcased at the Auto Expo 2020 this year. The Renault K-ZE is something one would call an electric car on a budget. Renault K-ZE is currently on sale in China and looks a lot like the current Kwid in India. The French carmaker is expecting to launch an electric vehicle somewhere around 2022.

    The Mahindra e-KUV100 was launched at the Auto Expo 2020. Priced at ₹8.0 lakhs the car might be one of the most affordable electric vehicles on the Indian roads. The car offers a range of 147 kilometres on a full charge. While bookings of the car have begun, the deliveries might take some time.

    The Indian carmaker, Tata went on a nostalgia ride at the Auto Expo 2020. The people of the 90s know what an amazing car Sierra was. Tata has decided to bring back the SUV in an electric form. While the vintage boxy design of the vehicle was kept intact, there were some modern additions to the car.

    The Mahindra XUV300 has already made its presence felt in the Indian car market. The car recently scored some unprecedented ratings at the Global NCAP, making it one of the safest cars in the country.

    The vehicle is now all set to enter the Indian car market in an electrical format. The car will rival Tata’s Nexon EV. The electric car gets a bigger screen on the inside along with the reworked grille and headlamps. The car will is going to launch in the second half of 2021.

    After stealing the hearts of the Indian consumer, the Altroz from Tata is now coming with an electric powertrain. Auto Expo 2020 saw the production model of the car. The electric powertrain is based on that of Tata’s Nexon EV.

    Haima showcased the Haima Bird Electric at the Auto Expo 2020. Chinese carmaker, Haima has brought in the Haima EV1 to India after partnering with the Bird group in India. The car is going to compete with Mahindra e-KUV 100 if and when launched.

    MG has already created a buzz with its Hector and the newly launched ZS EV. While there’s not a lot known about the vehicle entering India anytime soon. The car is the first one fitted with Level 3 autonomous capabilities, integrated internet and much more. The company claims the car has a range of 370 kilometres.

Conclusion | EV Auto Expo 2020

The companies are racing to show their electric power. The carmakers are shifting their focus on the electric car market rapidly. Most of the companies which showcased their EV at Auto Expo 2020 are going to launch them in India soon. How it turns out for the cars in India is yet to be seen.
