Toyota C-HR To Launch In India 2020

The Indian automobile market is slowly becoming a hotspot for SUVs. Every major car manufacturer is launching a new model every 7-10 months. This sudden surge in the SUV segment had contemplated car makers to come out with new models from their global platforms and so is Toyota. Toyota has introduced the C-HR crossover for the Indian market.

Highlights

  • The Toyota C-HR crossover is built on the company’s TNGA (Toyota New Generation Architecture) platform. The engine remains the same a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 144 hp and 188 nm. It also comes coupled to a 7-speed CVT (continuously variable transmission)
  • As per Toyota’s specification, the Indian variant of the C-HR will receive a 1798cc petrol engine delivering 120bhp of power and torque of 142 nm.
  • The hybrid variant will have a permanent magnet synchronous motor with 53 kW power and 163 Nm torque and the motor will be powered by a Nickel-metal hydride battery pack.
  • The mileage for Indian variant of Toyota C-HR will range up to 23 kmpl under standard driving conditions and for the hybrid variant the fuel economy would range up to 17 kmpl to 20 kmpl and it can vary depending upon the driving mode and hybrid power usage.
  • The 2020 Toyota C-HR  will come with a new honeycomb grille, headlights, front bumper and spoilers. The fog lights have been placed in the side vents, the LE trim gets unique 17-inch wheelbase. 
  • Toyota is also eyeing to launch a limited edition for the C-HR which will include Limited grade 18-inch wheels), and the entire C-HR range comes with standard LED headlights.
  • The interiors of the new 2020 Toyota C-HR will have 3-spoke leather steering wheels with multimedia switches and 4.2 inch TFT screen for multi-information display.
  •  The limited-edition variants will also incorporate Apple Carplay. The seats will come with leather upholstery and power adjustment feature for the front seats. A leather padded armrest on the console box and leather gear shift would also be featured in the new upgraded model. 
  • it is also being speculated that with the increasing demand for SUVs Toyota could launch the C-HR in India by April 2020 this premium crossover will fight credible rivals including Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, KIA Seltos and many more. Looking at the price range and the specs it is certain that Toyota means serious business.
