Toyota Fortuner BS6 Petrol Prices To increase Soon

Will India soon be a petrol oriented nation? well, with the narrowing gap between the prices of both and diesel cars have resulted in the rise of petrol oriented cars in the nation. Looking back in time from 2011-2012 diesel cars accounted for almost 60% of India’s total car sales but as time passed the same demand decreased to almost 15% recording in February 2020.

What could be the main reason for such thing to happen well the main reason behind it is the narrowing price gap between both of them. If we take a look at the pricing there has been an almost Rs 31 in 2011-12 and Rs 6.5 in the price of diesel. As a matter, fo fact petrol is cheaper than diesel in states such as Gujarat and Goa.

This is the only reason why the Toyota Kirloskar group has decided to part its ways with diesel and focus its production on petrol oriented vehicles and will also be increasing the prices for the all-new Toyota Fortuner BS6 petrol and the Toyota Innova Crysta BS6 petrol.

As of now, the Toyota Fortuner is offered with 2 engine options including a 2.7-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol and a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder diesel unit. Both the engine on the Toyota Fortuner has the capability of generating 163hp of power with 245Nm of torque and 174bhp with 420Nm of peak torque respectively. These engine options then come paired to either a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.

Talking about the Toyota Fortuner’s cousin the Toyota Innova Crysta is offered with 2 BS6 compliant 2.7-litre petrol and a 2.4-litre with the petrol engine capable of generating  148hp with 343Nm of torque. Toyota also offers a five-speed manual gearbox driving the power to the rear wheels as standard, while a 6-speed torque converter automatic will be offered as optional.
